After years spent home brewing, starting a small batch distillery was always a dream for high-performance motor mechanic and awardwinning distiller Vaughan Campbell. But a leukaemia diagnosis was the kick he needed to follow his dream, to leave a legacy his kids could be proud of.
Inspired by a news article, Vaughan set his sights on reducing food wastage. Only a short few years, and an award winning competition entry later, Good Bones Distillery is now set on its course to converting New Zealands food waste into high quality, double distilled, premium Vodka.
Every bottle of spirits we produce has been proudly made using only New Zealand made ingredients, locally sourced from around the lower north island. We believe Good Bones is the first to do this.
Each batch of our spirits is made using its own individual blend of ingredients. Here on our site, you can explore what went into the batch that you are purchasing, and where it came from.
Each bottle of Good Bones has been produced with a zero waste mindset, we produce our alcohol with every last usable piece of the food waste we acquire leaving nothing behind. Locally sourced from the bakeries and manufacturers that support our community.
